I’m Madeline, a brain-ambidextrous geek who’s now a surface pattern designer, illustrator, and handletterer. Growing up, creativity wasn’t exactly encouraged—math was my thing, and I followed that path into a two-decade-long career in tech and business. But in 2020, I stumbled into art through calligraphy and photography, and one thing led to another. Now here I am, blending my love of geeky stuff with design, running an art business I never thought was in the cards for me.
Based in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada, I share my home with my husband, two daughters, and lots of nerdy books. The "gifted" part of my brand is inspired by my eldest, who shares my love of puzzles (we’re both members of Mensa), and my fun, creative youngest, whose unique drawings always bring a fresh perspective. My designs draw inspiration from all things geeky—think math, science, music, reading, and even morse code—along with my kids’ art and the occasional touch of nature. Whether it’s simple elementary-level concepts or complex college-level math, I enjoy making nerdy topics fun, whimsical, and accessible for kids and playful adults alike.
